Reusing Paint For the Community

Most people do some home decorating and have some spare paint left over for later use. When you have a clear out you may find paint that is no longer needed. But paint is hard to dispose of - it can't be poured down drains (do NOT do this in any circumstances) and can create mess if it is spilt. Paint may contain harmful substances such as VOC (voltaic organic compounds) which are particularly harmful to the environment.

Rather than throwing the paint away, allow other the opportunity to reuse it. Re>Paint Norfolk collects usable paint for redistribution to community groups throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The main collection point is: B&Q, Boundary Road, Hellesdon, Norwich. Please hand in the paint at customer services.

Only paints suitable for domestic use are accepted - Emulsion, gloss, eggshell, undercoat, primer, masonry paint, exterior paint, satin paint, floor paint.

The following are NOT accepted - paint stripper and thinners; paintbrush cleaners; varnishes and woodstains; wood preservatives and treatments; car paint; specialist and industrial paints; aerosols and spray paints; cellulose-based paint; paint not its original container; paint over 10 years old; and unusable paint. Professional painters and decorators need to make separate arrangements to donate surplus paints. Please call Mini-Scrapbox 01603 873128.

The paint is collected and stared at Mini-Scrapbox where it is sorted and redistributed free of charge to community groups. If you would like to apply for some paint, please call Mini-Scrapbox.
